Text Box: Well Here we are, Probably THE most exciting time in Haughton Bands history. I hope everyone has been having a safe and enjoyable summer. Now the real excitement is about to begin. First, I would like to welcome our new Assistant Director of Bands, Mr. Joel Burris. Mr. Burris comes to us as an Alumnus of this band. Now both Directors are Graduates of Haughton!!  Second, I would like to recognize all of our camp attendees on having great success at your respective camps. We all have been working hard to get ready for this marching season and our success will depend on you trying your very best to make it everything it can be. Be sure to start conditioning yourself now. If you have any questions or challenges, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Any issue can be resolved. I am looking forward to seeing all of you and can’t wait to get started.
Together, through hard work and dedication we can become the standard through success.

Text Box: On your first day you will need to report to the band room, sign in at the registration table, pick up your forms and music. 
There are some definite changes to this year’s schedule so please be sure to read this carefully.
Be sure on your reporting day to have these items with you.
Comfortable athletic shoes with socks. Sandals are not permitted In order to learn our marching skills correctly we must wear the proper shoe.
A Water Bottle and protection from the sun. We will be outside primarily in the morning only! However be aware it will still be hot – Be Prepared!! Plenty of breaks will be given, but you must have water outside with you!
Instrument in Good working order if you need to rent one from the school – the cost is $20.00 semester 
Flip-folder and lyre for your instrument. These can be purchased at The Band House on Shreveport-Barksdale Hwy, in the Shreve-City shopping center. If you are renting an instrument, the lyre will be provided. (Percussion & Color-Guard do not need these.)
All other necessary supplies. This include reeds, valve oil, sticks, etc.
A positive attitude, enthusiasm, motivation, self discipline, and responsibility!!!
 

Text Box: Band Parents This year we will have a Band Booster meeting and Uniform fitting on Thursday August 6th, at 6:30 p.m.
This allows parents that work an opportunity to come and see what its all about, ask questions, pay fees, and do not have to “take off”  work to do it. If you missed the end of the year meeting this will get you “caught up”.

Band Fee A marching band fee of $70.00 is required at Uniform fitting night to pay for your band shirt, uniform cleaning, contest entrance fees, travel and other miscellaneous expenses. This fee must be paid before you will be allowed to participate. If this is a problem please contact me. Cash or Money Order only. 

Other Fees: If you need Gloves they are $3.00 a pair (percussion and color guard do not need gloves) If you need to order Shoes the cost is $25.00 a pair (black Drillmasters is the marching shoe we wear) $50.00 for your Wind-suit. (This works as our alternate Uniform)
